Bond It, one of the UK’s fastest growing manufacturers of sealants, adhesives and building chemicals, has, adapted and evolved forging ahead in a world dramatically changed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following 12 months of meticulous preparation, Bond It was awarded ISO 45001 standard with no non-conformances. Bond It now boasts accreditation in all three categories for manufacturing companies; ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. This is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use, to enable an organisation to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health. This project was managed by Joe Gibson, Operations Manager and lead to the appointment of a company Health & Safety Officer at the beginning of the Year to manage H&S policy going forward. Together they have implemented risk assessment management, safety at work, training programmes and are accountable for all aspects of Health & Safety within the workplace. This has included re-adjustments to accommodate social distancing throughout the offices, production plant and warehousing units, PPE and ensuring that the company fully complies with the government guidelines because of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Joe Gibson commented, “The ISO 45001 accreditation is an achievement we are proud of and an endorsement of the great strides we have made in recent years and months in regards to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our employees and visitors to our site. We aim to build on this ISO45001 accreditation and continually improve the management system, processes and training, through employee participation, our wide ranging H&S Committee, and the support of the Directors, to keep the company moving forward.”
