A lightweight magnesium oxide board that is multi-purpose offering insulation and waterproofing properties. For use under tiles and over underfloor heating to provide a firm and even surface. A1 fire rated and highly resistant to mould and mildew, X-treme Tile Backer Boards are a better environmental alternative and upgrade to traditional Gypsum boards for floors, walls and countertops as the manufacturing process uses less than 50% of the energy consumed to make a comparible gypsum based board.

Simple to install, X-Treme Tile Backer Board is a quicker alternative to traditional methods. Using conventional fasteners, the boards can be scored and snapped easily to shape using a standard utility knife, thereby not requiring specialist tools. Being ultra lightweight, it also makes it easier to handle and install in tight bathroom and wet room areas or in limited spaces. The material is incredibly durable and will hold a combined hanging weight of tiles and adhesive up to 100Kg/m², impressive stats for such a lightweight material! This is an environmentally friendly product with CE certification to EN 12467, and contains no silica thereby is not a health hazard to the installer as no dust is produced. It also has sound reduction properties and have thermal resistance making them ideal for construction.

Due to its composition, it performs well in wet areas and areas prone to humidity, such as behind shower walls and under bathroom floors, kitchens, saunas and swimming pools, as they will inhibit mould growth. Available in 6mm and 12mm thicknesses for walls and floors.
